The California Environmental Legacy Project is pleased to announce its collaboration with the legendary jazz musician, Pat Metheny. Metheny will compose and perform music for the soundtracks of our public television documentary, “Becoming California,” and for the regional films that will be viewed at state and national parks throughout California.
One of the most enterprising jazz musicians of his generation, Metheny has 18 Grammy Awards in 12 categories, more than any artist in Grammy history. He also has three Gold Records and numerous readers’ poll awards. His body of work includes compositions for solo guitar, small ensembles, electric and acoustic instruments, large orchestras and ballet pieces, with settings ranging from modern jazz to rock to classical to one of his most creative endeavors, the Orchestrion.
